These are the chaistic structures I was able to find in Luk 4:

central axis) Luk 4:5-8, 2nd (central) temptation: Worship before me … Jesus: Get behind Me! It is written;
2c) Luk 4:9-12, 3rd temptation: If you are the Son of God … Jesus: It is written;
2b) Luk 4:13, When the devil ended every temptation, he departed from Him until an opportune time;
2a) Luk 4:14, Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee.
1a) Luk 4:15a, He taught in their synagogues;
1b) Luk 14:15b, Being glorified by all;
1c) Luk 14:16-17, He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah + He found where it was written;
central axis) Luk 4:18-19, Messianic prophecy of Isa 61:1-2;
2c) Luk 4:20-21, He closed the book and gave it back + Today this writing is fulfilled in your hearing;
2b) Luk 4:22a, So all bore witness to Him;

1a) Luk 4:16-17, He came to Nazareth and taught in the synagogue;
1b) Luk 4:18-22, The Spirit of the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings;
1c) Luk 4:23-29, The crowd, filled with wrath, tried to throw Him over the edge of the cliff;
1d) Luk 4:30, Passing through the midst of them, He went His way;
1e) Luk 4:31-37 chiasm, On the Sabbath, He cast out a demonic spirit from a man + rebuked it;
central axis) Luk 4:38-39, Jesus healed Simon’s mother in law + immediately she arose and served them;
2e) Luk 4:40-41, When the sun was setting, He healed all + demons came out of many, proclaiming Him + He rebuked them;
2d) Luk 4:42, He departed and went to a deserted place;
2c) Luk 4:42b, The crowd sought Him and tried to keep Him from leaving;
2b) Luk 4:43, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also + I have been sent for this purpose;
2a) Luk 4:44, He was preaching in the synagogues of Galilee.
1a) Luk 4:31, Jesus went down to Capernaum and taught on the Sabbath;
1b) Luk 4:32, They were astonished at His teaching for His word was with authority;
1c) Luk 4:33-34, There was a man who had a spirit of an unclean demon;
central axis) Luk 4:35a, Jesus rebuked him, saying, Be quiet, and come out of him;
2c) Luk 4:35b, The demon came out of him and did not hurt him;
2b) Luk 4:36, They were all amazed, What word is this? With authority and power He commands the unclean spirits;
2a) Luk 4:37, The report about Him went into every place in the surrounding region.
I wish I could write on what the Lord is revealing about the central axis’ in this chapter and why they are so important. It would fill a book! Meditate on the bolded phrases and see what the Spirit reveals.
