christine's bible study

The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever. Isa 40:8

God is working in my life

God is working in my life

The LORD will accomplish what concerns me; Your lovingkindness, O LORD, is everlasting; Do not forsake the works of Your hands. Lord, You will establish peace for us, for You have done all our works in us. But He answered them, "My Father is working until now, and I Myself am working."
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.
For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. He who calls you in faithful, who also will do it. Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen,

The truth is, God is working in my life at all times. When I cannot see evidence of it in front of me, I can be assured that He is indeed exerting His strength and faculties behind the scenes, to bring about His good plan for my life. This is because of the greatness of His love, grace, and mercy, and not because I merited His working by works. This is the truth that the Bible teaches – He has not left me to sort everything out on my own. Thoughts and feelings of impatience and frustration are lies which the enemy lies to us. We do not have to accept those lies. We can reject the lies and believe the truth instead.

This is how I trained my heart and mind to receive and believe the truth: “I am feeling frustrated, but it is only a feeling brought about by my past experiences. It is not a true reflection of my relationship with God or what He is doing in my life. Those things are determined by the word of God. I know God is working in me and in others because this is what it says: ___ repeat Scripture ___.”

The word of God is powerful, living and active, the weapon of our warfare which is effective against all the lies of the enemy and mighty to tear down strongholds (2 Cor 10:4).
