2 Timothy 2:15

Ultimately this chapter is about the steadfast faithfulness of God, who is able to keep all who are His. That some men are faithless does not change His faithfulness. Therefore Paul encourages Timothy to be a faithful servant as God is a faithful God. To endure hardship without giving up, to run the race according to the rules (God has rules, or commandments, the rules of His house. It is NOT true that His rules have passed away now that Christ has come, Mat 5:17-19). To rightly divide the word of truth and to teach the truth, no matter what opposition that garners you from the enemy or those who are misguided by him. The faithful servant of God not only lives a sanctified life, cleansed from dishonor to be a vessel of honor, but he also emulates Jesus in another way: he is gentle and lowly in heart, patient toward all, treating others with humility and gentleness. He does not quarrel or get involved in useless disputes over words. One short chapter which is long on wisdom that I and all of us need to keep in front of our eyes!
